The first edition of Times of Art, the International art course realized by Massimo Bramandi in Tuscany, particularly in Castelfiorentino, directed to Widar School Bochum German young artists, was a success and it’s the first of a format which will be repeated soon.

At the end of September the 24 German students selected were guided by the Master Bramandi in an artistic journey in 2 weeks focused both on the knowledge of the history of Tuscan and Italian art and on techniques of drawing and painting which culminated with an art exhibit of the students’ works in the Oratorio San Carlo of Castelfiorentino until 5th November 2016.

The students, by Widar Schule teacher, visited some of the milestones of Italian art history among whom: Uffizi, Museo Novecento, Palazzo Panciatichi, where is set Tuscany Regional administration in Florence, Museo Bego in Castelfiorentino, Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo, Museo Leonardiano and the house where Leonardo da Vinci was born, Vatican Museum in Rome, Contemporary Art Gallery Ca’Pesaro in Venice, Pinanoteca in San Gimignano.

Sensorial experiences and of accretion of the young artists were extended also with visits to typical Tuscan farms, among which Podere La Castellaccia of Alessandro Tofanari, to feel and breathe Tuscan tradition of production and food and wine excellences.

I really would like to thank, for the precious collaboration for the success of the first edition of the project Times of Art, Silvia Terreni (precious, tireless and my inspiration and support), Widar Schule for the friendship and the trust they have showed me for years, which I reciprocate.

Special tank to Dortmund Italian Consulate that substained the project, to Tuscany Region and all Town administrations involved: Comune di Roma, Comune di Venezia, Comune di Firenze, Comune di Castelfiorentino, Comune di Vinci, Comune di Certaldo, Comune di San Gimignano for the support they reserve to me and my projects.

It’s due to mention and thank my partners for the organization of this edition: the firm S.p.A. Maimeri, Biscotteria Toscana, Pasticceria Dei, Agriturismo Maramaldo, Azienda Agricola Podere La Castellaccia, Museo Be.Go. for the hospitality and the patience with which they guided us during the visit.

I would like to end with an affectionate thought to my guys, my German students of this first course who followed me with an attention and a devotion that I wouldn’t imagine and which made me really proud and touched.

If I forgot someone I would like to apologize and I will be rectify as soon as possible.

Soon we will replicate, Times of Art is going to be a fixed event which will be extended to a format of art courses in Tuscany for young artists and passionate people who want to attend an intensive course-journey articulated in the study of the history of Italian art, in the knowledge of Tuscan lands and in practical exercises of drawing, painting and sculpturing.
